The European Capital of Culture ECC2023 will be the host of the meeting of Theatre Schools in Europe, between November 10-16, part of the Sunlight Theatre cultural program, and will bring together performances, debates, workshops, reading-performance in high schools in Timisoara, conferences and a joint performance, according to a press release from the Artmedia Cultural Foundation, sent on Wednesday to AGERPRES.
The central objective is to create an authentic cultural dialogue among the communities of European drama schools.
The event offers a meeting space for students, theater teachers, specialists, critics, theater directors, established actors and directors and also invites the public from Timisoara to the show.
The seven European theatre schools that interconnect in Timisoara are: the Private University of Music and Art of the City of Vienna, the Faculty of Music and Theatre in Hanover, the Baden-Wurttemberg Performing Arts Academy in Ludwigsburg, the Theatre Faculty of the Metropolitan University in Manchester, the Royal Conservatory of Scotland in Glasgow, the National Academy of Dramatic Art Aleksander Zelwerowicz in Warsaw, the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the University of the West in Timisoara.
These faculties and academies of theatre and performing arts with strong artistic discourses and different working methods will present in Timisoara the performances chosen following a selection made by the curatorial team of the event, formed by Alina Mazilu and Florin Vidamski.
At the opening of the festival, the Timisoara public can attend the performance-conference "Public: Mode d'emploi?", created by Yves Marc, a show with which the French artist, established at the European level, will participate in the Avignon Festival in 2024.
