Total payments amounting to 174,404,757.52 lei were made between August 3 and 7 for projects contributing to the modernization of Romania's healthcare system, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday.
The funds have reached hospitals, medical universities, ambulance services, local authorities, and family medical practices, supporting investments that deliver better medical services and modern infrastructure.
Investments have reached the "Sf. Andrei" County Clinical Emergency Hospital in Constanta over 88.2 million lei for hospital infrastructure developmentnand the Targu Mures Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases and Transplantation over 33.4 million lei for healthcare investments.
Furthermore, regarding the digitalization of the healthcare system comprising 13 projects funds are being allocated to medical facilities such as the Medgidia Municipal Hospital (nearly 2.9 million lei for IT infrastructure digitalization), the Ilfov County Clinical Emergency Hospital (over 2.7 million lei for digital modernization), the Harghita County Ambulance Service (over 2.2 million lei for digitalization), and the Cluj Institute of Legal Medicine (over 1.1 million lei for digital transformation).
Investments will be directed towards family medicine practices (11 funded projects), outpatient care units (12 projects), integrated community centers (3 projects), the reduction of healthcare-associated infection risks (two projects), and neonatal intensive care (one project Bucharest CF Clinical Hospital No. 2, involving investments to improve newborn care).
