Romanian judo fighter Mircea Croitoru won on Sunday the bronze medal in the men's +100 kg division at the Prague European Open.
In the first round Croitoru defeated Israel's Serafim Kompaniez, in the round of 16 he prevailed over Frenchman Cedric Caillon, in the quarterfinals he won against Austrian Daniel Allerstorfer, battled fellow national Luca Kunszabo for the bronze, and settled for the third place after being taken down in the semifinals by Losseni Kone of Germany.
Romania participated with 16 athletes in the Prague competition - 10 men and 6 women - finishing with two bronze medals, the first of which was obtained by Florentina Ivanescu (women's 63 kg class).
