The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated on Wednesday that traffic is already being carried out on many of the motorway sections that "some say will not be built anymore".
"This is just one of the sections of the Moldova Motorway 'lost' from the PNRR. In reality, traffic is already being carried out on most of the motorways that some - totally irresponsibly - say will not be built anymore", Grindeanu wrote on Facebook, illustrating the post with an aerial video showing a highway section open to traffic.
He demands that the Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragos Pislaru clarify his position on the infrastructure projects that have already begun.
"I can't help but wonder, as many Romanians have already noticed, what was going on in Minister Pislaru's mind? Let him have the courage and tell Romanians clearly if he believes that the projects that have been started no longer need to be completed. Because from his statements it seems so...", Sorin Grindeanu also wrote.
Projects worth around 6.3 billion euros cannot be completed until August 2026, from the perspective of technical analyses, Minister Pislaru declared on Tuesday.
"We are currently in a situation where projects worth around 6.3 billion euros are, from the perspective of technical analyses, projects that cannot be completed by August 2026 or that do not meet the procedures. We already have a difference, from 15 billion minus 6.3, that is, 8.7 billion euros that would remain in the PNRR, to which a package of measures related to resilience is added," Dragos Pislaru specified.
He added that the Government is looking for alternative sources of financing, from the national budgetary component, for priority projects, such as the A7 and A8 motorway segments, which are no longer included in the PNRR.
