The Sibiu-Pitesti motorway (that will link central city of Sibiu to southern city of Pitesti, ed. n.), "much talked about by all the ministers of Transport and all the prime ministers", from a dream is becoming a reality, premier Marcel Ciolacu said on Wednesday, at the construction site on Valea Oltului, Boita area.
"The good news, after the discussion with the builders, is the fact that we will be within the assumed deadline of the work. Now, I have to agree with the minister and the builder, it is a work that they could not carry out during the night, being needed deforestation and the access roads. I know that it was not an easy period, traffic was stopped during the day for almost a month," Marcel Ciolacu, who was accompanied by the minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, highlighted.
"It is a component, as far as I know, now we'll see if I'm right, from the Pan-European IV Corridor, on the Rhine-Danube. In other words, apart from serving Romania, it's also something assumed by the Romanian state that all the time we were rolling it and finding reasons not to do it," Ciolacu added.
"The weather too must also help us at this moment. (...) They are, I think, the hardest wotks we have after the Revolution, but I think we have to get used to them, because we have to prepare for the Comarnic- Brasov (motorway, ed. n.). It's a kind of preamble to what will follow, the biggest investment, from my point of view, also much awaited by Romanians," Ciolacu said.
