The Prime Minister's Control Body is checking upon the Penitentiaries' National Administration in connection with the way the inmates have written scientific works with recommendation from professor or university lecturers.
According to a release by the Justice Ministry (MJ), sent on Tuesday to AGERPRES, the checking was demanded by the MJ and was generated by the publishing of a huge number of scientific works by the inmates, in particular in 2014 and 2015.
Justice Minister Raluca Pruna last week declared that she would propose the Government to issue an Emergency Ordinance to annul the provision that allows cutting prison time of the convicted persons based on scientific works.
"I've made up my mind, learning that the phenomenon is totally out of control, to tell the Government to annul this disposition, in its first sitting in February," said Raluca Pruna in a press conference.
Also on that day, the Justice minister announced she had asked Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos for an administrative investigation by the Control Body of the PM on this issue.AGERPRES
