The military parade organised at the Triumphal Arch on the National day, attended by President Klaus Iohannis and several representatives of the state bodies, ended in fanfare music after one hour and a half, during which over 3,500 military and specialists with over 350 technical means, of which approx. 50 aircraft, have paraded.
The event that took place under the Triumphal Arch was watched by thousands of Bucharesters, many of whom young and very young.
The Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, the former presidents Traian Basescu and Emil Constantinescu, the Premier Mihai Tudose, the National Defence Minister Mihai Fifor, the Internal Affairs Minister Carmen Dan, the National Anti-corruption Directorate's head Laura-Codruta Kovesi, the Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar, the President of the Constitutional Court Valer Dorneanu, the Ombudsman Victor Ciorbea, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, representatives of the Army, veterans attended the ceremony.
In the end, President Klaus Iohannis shook hand of Prime Minister Mihai Tudose and of some members of the gov't, and a few minutes later he walked along a protection fence where he hailed several persons who had attended the parade.
In the 1 December event participated over 300 foreign military from Bulgaria, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, the U.S., Turkey and Ukraine, as well as military wounded in the operation theatres in the Western Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. Were also present wounded military who have competed in the Invictus 2017 Paralympic Games in Canada, where they have won outstanding results.
Commander of the parade was Lieutenant General Adrian Tonea, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff.
