The National Liberal Party (PNL, Opposition)'s leadership decided to table in Parliament two simple motions, on Agriculture, targeting the African swine fever, and on Finance, referring to the local authorities budget, on Monday announced this party's chair, Ludovic Orban.
"We made the decision to table a motion against Agriculture Minister Petre Daea, for having lost control of the African swine fever. Following the refusal of the parliamentary majority to establish an inquiry committee, to sharply analyse who is to blame for the getting out of control of the African swine fever, we made the decision to appeal to this parliamentary leverage - the motion against the Minister of Agriculture - so as to clearly show the public opinion the fact that the authorities of Romania did nothing to prevent the swine fever," Orban said after the reunion of the PNL's Executive Bureau.
The other motion, he added, aims "the disaster induced in the local public finance", "for the fact that he [the Finance Minister, Eugen Teodorovici, ed.n.] refused to observe the Law of the State Budget, to observe the gov't's previous commitments with regard to the local budgets, leaving several local authorities without the necessary financial resources to ensure a good functioning."
According to the PNL leader, the motion on Agriculture will be tabled this week, while the one on Finance, next week.
