National unemployment rate falls to 3.15% at the end of September

The national unemployment rate stood at 3.15% at the end of September 2025, down 0.02 percentage points compared to the previous month, with the total number of unemployed persons reaching 252,520, the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) reports.

Of the total registered unemployed, 54,225 were receiving benefits and 198,295 were not. The number of benefit recipients increased by 85 persons, while the number of non-beneficiaries fell by 1,296 compared to the previous month.

By area of residence, 67,824 unemployed come from urban areas and 184,696 from rural areas.

The number of unemployed women on 30 September 2025 was 120,302, while the number of unemployed men was 132,218.

The largest group of unemployed are aged 40-49 (61,452), followed by those over 55 (60,999), with the smallest group being those aged 25-29 (14,600).

Regarding the structure of unemployment by education level, those without schooling and with primary education account for a significant share of total registered unemployed (30.35%). Those with lower secondary education make up 33.72% of the total registered unemployed, while university-educated individuals represent 4.70%, the ANOFM release shows.
