Romania's natural population growth was further negative in September 2017, deceased people outnumbering child-births by 482, according to data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Friday.
In September 2017 as many as 18,157 children were born, by 1,956 fewer than in August 2017. The number of people whose deaths were recorded in September 2017 was 18,638, by 1,817 lower than in August 2017," INS specifies.
The number of deaths of infants under one year registered in September 2017 was 122, up by 14 than the previous month.
As regards marriages and divorces, 20,655 marriages were recorded in September, by 2,962 fewer than in August 2017, and the number of divorces under final and binding court rulings stood at 2,693, up by 130 as compared to August 2017.
