Net investments in the national economy totalled 21.055 billion lei in Q3 of 2018, dropping 1.5 per cent compared with the same period of 2017, following the 14.3 per cent drop recorded in the new construction works, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Moreover, in the first three quarters of 2018, net investments in national economy totalled 54.596 billion lei, up 2.7 per cent compared with January 1 - September 30, 2017.
According to the INS, in Q3 of 2018, compared with the same quarter of 2017, net investments in national economy dropped 1.5 per cent, a decline by 14.4 per cent recorded in new construction works and by 7.6 per cent other expenses. The increase was also recorded in the machine structure elements (including transportation means) by 15.4 per cent.
The INS data show that, over January 1 -September 30, 2018, compared with January 1 - September 30, 2017, net investments in national economy climbed 2.7 per cent, a growth also recorded in the following structure elements: other expenses - by 31.3 per cent and machines (including transportation means) - by 8.8 per cent.
Investments in new construction works also dropped by 8.2 per cent.
The branches that achieved the largest investments in the first three quarters of 2018 are: trade/services, by 26 per cent compared with 24 per cent in the same period of last year, agriculture by 6.2 per cent, compared with 5.4 per cent in th same period of 2017, and other branches, by 10.3 per cent against 6.8 per cent, in the same period of 2017.
