New car registrations increased by 26% in July 2025, compared to the same period the previous year, up to 16,276 units, while purely electric cars saw a decrease of 17.8% and a market share of 3.2%, according to preliminary data from the General Directorate of Driving Licenses and Registrations (DGPCI), processed by the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA).
In the first seven months of this year, new car registrations reached 80,615 units, with a decrease of 15.3% compared to the same period last year.
The top car registration brands are: Dacia - 5,106, Toyota - 1,757, Skoda - 1,259, Hyundai - 1,130, Renault - 976, Volkswagen - 961, Ford - 724, Suzuki - 560, Mercedes-Benz - 517, BMW - 401. Of the total of 16,276 registered cars, 2,885 represent other brands.
And in terms of models, Dacia dominates the top of registrations: Dacia Logan - 1,723, Dacia Duster - 1,473, Dacia Sandero - 1,116, Toyota Corolla - 711, Skoda Octavia - 492, Hyundai Tucson - 468, Dacia Bigster - 413, Dacia Jogger - 380, Toyota Yaris CRC - 380, Renault Clio - 351.
