A new chapter begins in the history of the United States of America with the second term of President Donald Trump, Save Romania Union (USR) President Elena Lasconi says.
America represents for Romania a "point of support" in terms of national security, says Lasconi in a message sent on the occasion of Donald Trump's inauguration.
"Today a new chapter begins in the history of the United States of America, with the second term of President Donald Trump. It is a chapter that I look forward to with hope, even if others await it with anxiety. What matters to us, as Romanians, is the special relationship with the USA - we have a strategic partnership, we were and are loyal allies, and America is for us the point of support when it comes to security our national", Lasconi wrote on Facebook on Monday.
She expresses her belief that Donald Trump's term will be "much different" from President Biden's and that in four years "many things will be different" from now.
"President Trump has the DNA of a businessman, so his global economic approaches will be very different from those of his predecessors, and this will have planetary effects. Romania will have to adapt as best as possible, to be able to keep up with the changes at world level. For the good of the United States, but also for the good of Romania, I wish President Donald Trump a successful mandate and hope that he will be successfully involved in finding solutions to problems that are also Romania's, in particular to Russia's military aggression on the Ukrainian territory", adds Lasconi.
