Noaptea Dansului (Dance Night) returns in 2025 with a first: its first spring edition under the banner Dance Night - Bucharest Dances, which will take place on Sunday, on Calea Victoriei, in front of the National Museum of Romania's History.

According to a press release sent Thursday to AGERPRES, the April 13 edition will bring together over 10 dance schools from Bucharest on Calea Victoriei.

From 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the public will be able to take part in group dance demonstrations, spectacular flash mobs, and community-dance moments where spectators become part of the show, the organisers note.

The artistic programme will include an eclectic mix of dance styles that reflect the diversity and vitality of Bucharest's urban dance scene: tango, Greek dance, salsa & Cuban salsa, bachata, kizomba, afro-dance, swing, fetno, K-pop, Indian dances, and more. Participants will have the chance to learn basic steps, interact with the dancers, and discover new dance styles in a relaxed, festive setting.

"The concept and idea behind this successful urban event do not involve a stage for performers - and never will. Everything happens live and organically on the street. This is a project designed to promote dance as an urban art form and to break the barrier between dancer and spectator, bringing them together through interaction and the joy of dancing. In other parts of Europe, there's a culture and habit of dancing simply and casually in the street, and it's wonderful to now offer that same opportunity here in Romania, alongside our dance communities. In turn, the communities are excited about this openness toward the public - the chance to showcase what they offer in such a broad setting, to have fun, to meet other dancers, and to invite the public to take dance classes," said the event's initiators and coordinators, Dana Samoil-Istrate and Dragos Samoil.

The street dance component of Noaptea Dansului takes place as part of the Open Streets - Bucharest, Urban Promenade project, an initiative of the Bucharest City Hall, organised by ARCUB - The Cultural Centre of the City of Bucharest, acting as the local operator.

Public access is free of charge.

The full artistic programme will soon be available on Noaptea Dansului Facebook and Instagram pages.
