OMV Petrom achieved a hydrocarbon production of 102,200 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/day) in the second quarter of this year, down nearly 5% compared to the first quarter and 7% lower than the same period last year, according to data submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
Crude oil and condensate production was 48,400 boe/day (down 3.3% compared to Q1 2025), while natural gas production stood at 53,800 boe/day (down 6.2%).
In Q2 2025, the total volume of hydrocarbon sales reached 96,900 boe/day, 5% lower than in the first three months of the year. Crude oil and condensate sales fell by 4.4% to 50,000 boe/day, and natural gas sales dropped by 5.8% to 47,000 boe/day.
On the other hand, total refined product sales rose by 11.6% compared to the first quarter, reaching 1.34 million tons. Gas sales to third parties amounted to 8.07 TWh, a 21.3% decrease.
Net electricity production at the Brazi Power Plant totaled 0.61 TWh, representing a 50% decline compared to the January-March 2025 period.
OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, with a group-level annual crude oil and gas production of approximately 40 million boe in 2024. The group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons per year and operates a high-efficiency 860 MW natural gas-fired power plant. In the retail petroleum products market, the group is active in Romania and neighbouring countries through approximately 780 filling stations, under two brands: OMV and Petrom.
At the end of 2024, Romanian shareholders held over 43% of the company's shares (of which the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy, held 20.7%). OMV Aktiengesellschaft, one of the largest listed industrial companies in Austria, owned 51.2% of OMV Petrom shares, while the remaining 5.6% were held by other foreign investors.
