The opening hours of the Dacian fortress Sarmizegetusa Regia, in the Orastiei Mountains, have changed, so that from the beginning of March until April 30, the historical site is open to the public between 9:00h and 18:00h.

According to the General Directorate of Monuments Administration and Tourism Promotion (DGAMPT) Hunedoara, the last entry of tourists into the UNESCO site area will be possible 30 minutes before closing time.

The former capital of Dacia, Sarmizegetusa Regia, was visited last year by 52,000 people, given that access to the site was restricted to the public between October 15 and November 30. During this time, work was carried out on the west entrance gate, as part of the rehabilitation project "Capital of Dacia - Living Museum of European Cultural Heritage".

The Sarmizegetusa Regia Fortress is part of the complex of Dacian fortresses in the Orastiei Mountains and is under the administration of the Hunedoara County Council.
