Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, one of the most refined and acclaimed chamber ensembles in Europe, will give for the first time an extraordinary concert on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum on Saturday at 19:00.

Under the baton of maestro Carlo Fabiano, cofounder, artistic director and concertmaster of the ensemble, the orchestra will present a programme that will take the audience through works by Vivaldi, Rossini, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.

Together with the more than twenty members of the orchestra, cellist and pianist Stefano Guarino, an Italian artist, will also take the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum and will perform Gioachino Rossini's work 'Une larme' A Tear.

The concert programme includes works such as Antonio Vivaldi, Concerto in A major for string orchestra, RV 158; Gioachino Rossini, Une larme-A Tear for cello and string orchestra; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Divertimento in D major, K. 136; Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Serenade for string orchestra in C major, op. 48.

Orchestra da Camera di Mantova is regarded as a true ambassador of the Italian spirit in chamber music. In 1997 Italian music critics awarded it the prestigious Franco Abbiati Prize for its ability to unite, at the highest interpretative level, the Italian instrumental tradition and the classical repertoire, the release reads.

Over more than forty years of activity, the ensemble has collaborated with an impressive number of internationally renowned conductors and soloists including Isabelle Faust, Kent Nagano, Leonidas Kavakos, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Steven Isserlis, Maria Joăo Pires, Gidon Kremer, Joshua Bell, Viktoria Mullova, Salvatore Accardo, Uto Ughi, Mischa Maisky, Katia and Marielle Labeque, Maria Tipo, Astor Piazzolla and Aldo Ciccolini.

Since 1993 the orchestra has promoted the musical life of the city of Mantua through the Tempo d'Orchestra season and since 2013 it has organised the Trame Sonore International Chamber Music Festival, held in the city's most beautiful heritage venues.
