The total value of outstanding retail and corporate loans, recorded in December 2017, amounts to 4.78 billion lei, down 12.5% from the amount reported in November 2017, and the outstanding repayments for foreign currency loans decreased 29.81% to 4.38 billion lei (equivalent), according to a report of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
Total lei loans stood at 146,038 billion lei (by 0.10% more than in the previous month), of which 61.8 billion lei in corporate loans and 80.16 billion lei in retail loans.
Foreign currency loans totaled 88,993 billion lei (equivalent) in December 2017 (by 3.77% less than in November 2017), out of which 44.15 billion lei in business loans and 41.78 billion lei in retail ones.
At end-December, Bucharesters had overdue loans of 1.5 billion lei and foreign currency ones worth 2.18 billion lei (equivalent).
The total of the lei loans taken out in Bucharest stood at 51.9 billion lei and the ones in foreign currency at 43 billion lei.
