Over three million lei was the value of fines applied by inspectors from the State Inspectorate for Road Transport Control (ISCTR), for a series of irregularities found in road freight vehicles in traffic, according to data ade public on Wednesday by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Ciprian Serban.
"In just a few days after my request, inspectors from the State Inspectorate for Road Transport Control (ISCTR) checked over 2,500 freight vehicles as part of an intensive weighing control operation. Our objective: safety and protection of road infrastructure. Figures that speak for themselves: 2,556 vehicles checked, over 3 million lei - the total value of fines for 384 sanctions", the official wrote on his Facebook account.
The relevant minister announced, in the context, that he would demand the intensification of these checks throughout the country.
"I firmly support these checks and will demand their intensification throughout the country. Road transport must be fair, legal and safe for everyone. We continue to act firmly against transport violations. Respect for the law is not optional", Minister Serban said.
