More than 560 driving licenses were seized by the police on Friday, 48 of them for alcohol consumption, informed the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
According to a press release from the Romanian Police sent to AGERPRES on Saturday, the police acted, at the national level, to prevent antisocial acts, organizing 406 actions and intervened in 2,831 events, of which 2,400 were reported by citizens through 112.
Also, 15 people were found, pursued nationally and internationally, against whom legal measures were ordered, and 39 preventive measures were ordered in the instrumented cases, the quoted source shows, Agerpres informs.
For other detected irregularities, the police applied 7,921 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 3,335,843 RON.
"The traffic police took action to increase traffic safety, with 137 violations of traffic regulations on public roads being detected. 561 driving licenses were suspended, of which 223 were for speeding, 48 for alcohol and nine for drugs," the press release reads.
