Joint committees for foreign policy and the committees for the Romanian communities abroad in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday, following the respective hearings, issued favourable opinions for the proposed ambassadors for four permanent Romanian representative offices abroad.

The proposed ambassadors are: Cornel Feruta - nominated for the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations in New York, Razvan-Victor Rusu - nominated for the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ion Jinga - nominated for the Permanent Mission of Romania to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and Daniel Ionita - nominated for the Kingdom of Sweden.

The head of Senate's foreign affairs committee, Titus Corlatean, noted the professional career of the four candidates "diplomats with a remarkable career" nominated for the positions of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania and wished them much success in the mission of promoting Romanian state's interests.

Of the twelve proposals for Romanian ambassadors submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 4, the specialist committees of Parliament heard, in addition to those who received favourable opinions on Tuesday, four other candidates, on March 22, who also received favourable opinions. They were proposed for the representative offices of Romania in the State of Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Turkmenistan, Agerpres informs.
