George Simion, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) candidate got 489,921 votes (59.57%) in the first round of the presidential election rerun abroad, according to the latest data published on Sunday night in real time on the website of the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) after counting 92.64% of the ballots abroad.

In second place is independent candidate Nicusor Dan, with 216,254 votes (26.29%), followed by Crin Antonescu ("Romania, Forward!" Electoral Alliance) with 58,896 votes (7.16%) and Elena Lasconi (Save Romania Party - USR) - 27,435 votes (3.34%).

Next are:

* Victor Ponta (independent candidate) - 20,148 votes (2.45%)

* Daniel Funeriu (independent candidate) - 2,784 votes (0.34%)

* Cristian Terhes (Romanian National Conservative Party) - 2,533 votes (0.31%)

* Lavinia Sandru (Social Liberal Humanist Party) - 2,026 votes (0.25%)

* Sebastian Popescu (New Romania Party) - 999 votes (0.12%)

* John-Ion Banu Muscel (independent candidate) - 851 votes (0.10%)

* Silviu Predoiu (National Action League Party) - 625 votes (0.08%).
