The National Federation for Social Labour Solidarity, which represents employees of the Pension Offices, is protesting on Friday in response to the austerity measures announced by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, calling for a 'rigorous and objective' analysis of public institutions' activities before the adoption of any measures that would affect personnel.
'The National Federation for Social Labour Solidarity, affiliated with the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS), expresses its deep dissatisfaction with the way the current government continues to implement measures with major impact on employees, without consulting social partners. Today, 04.07.2025, our members have launched a protest as a legitimate and united reaction to a decision deemed unfair and discriminatory. The latest decisions, adopted without genuine dialogue, impact analysis, or transparency, demonstrate a lack of respect for democratic principles and for the rights of workers, as enshrined in both national and European legislation,' reads a press release from the National Trade Union Bloc, agerpres reports.
The trade unionists highlight the lack of real and consistent social dialogue with representative trade union organisations, as well as the adoption of measures without serious assessment of the affected systems.
Another issue raised by the union is the absence of transparency and consultation in the decision-making process.
'The hazardous working conditions allowance is not a privilege', but a legal compensation for work carried out in environments that endanger health or safety. Its capping is an affront to those who ensure the proper functioning of the territorial pension offices. We believe that any decision must be based on a real evaluation of needs, resources, and outcomes, not on general measures applied uniformly and without consultation. We call on the Government to conduct a rigorous and objective analysis of public institutions' activities before adopting any measures that affect personnel,' the National Federation for Social Labour Solidarity said.
