PM Ciolacu: I would like not to see any more sports fields on slopes or locked gyms
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that he would like to see no more sports fields built on slopes or sports halls "with locks on them".
The prime minister was asked if he would stop financing the National Investment Company for school sports halls and if other sites would have their financing removed.
"Absolutely nobody has stopped anything. It's true that I'd like to stop seeing sports halls that are on a slope or sports halls that are locked and if you want we can go together. Some gyms built in the past now have locks on them. In some places we have built sports halls, football pitches on a slope. I think we have overcome this moment in Romania. (...) I have asked indeed Mr. Minister in the Government meeting to come up with some priorities. Certain investments, such as those related to the large infrastructure, motorways, multiply from 1 to 5 times, to 8 times, in a short period," said Ciolacu.
He added that "we need a certain dynamic of economic support".
"It is possible that some investments may not be a priority, but not those that are in progress, under construction, perhaps those on the summary list, which are on hold, may not be a priority. This is for the minister to do. It is the normal approach. We must understand that a state, a ministry, a society, has priorities. There are more important things, such as dual education, and less important things," said the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and Bucharest District 3 mayor Robert Negoita, visited the "Anghel Saligny" Technical College in Bucharest on Monday.
