Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos on Saturday sent his Moldovan counterpart Pavel Filip a letter in which he mentions a series of decisive actions for the creation of the necessary conditions for transferring the first tranche of 60 million euros from the 150 million-euro reimbursable loan.
According to a Government release sent to STIRIPESURSE.RO, the letter, which goes into details on the discussions held in Bucharest on January 26, 2016, about the loan agreement between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, highlights "key aspects through which the authorities of Chisinau will reconfirm the state's reform desire, allowing the granting of the loan."
PM Ciolos give guarantees to his counterpart Pavel Filip on Romania's "being and continuing to be alongside the Republic of Moldova" and shows that Bucharest understands "the seriousness of the economic situation and its implications on the stability of the Republic of Moldova and the welfare of its citizens."
The chief of Government brings to mind that Romania is willing to offer the necessary support to Moldova "gradually and in connection with the efforts made in Chisinau for assuming and implementing the democratic, economic and institutional reforms."
Among the decisive actions PM Ciolos recommends to Moldova, there are the clear prioritization of implementing the agenda of association with the European Union, a transparent process of appointing the national bank governor, establishing a roadmap for reaching an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as soon as possible, initiating a legislative package for the improvement of the business environment, a systemic assessment of the banking system vulnerabilities, updating and enforcing the strategy on reforming the justice sector and the national anticorruption strategy and the close cooperation and consultation with the representatives of the civil society.
