The need for integrated use of European and national resources, so that at the level of the EU member-states the multiple crises of this period can be optimally managed, was the subject approached on Tuesday by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca and European Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, informs a release of the Government.

Romania, as a member-state of the EU and NATO, is a safe country, which guarantees the security of business and investment, added Prime Minister Ciuca.

According to the source, the two officials analysed the economic effects generated by the Russian military aggression on Ukraine, context in which the Prime Minister presented the efforts to manage the refugee flow from Ukraine, but also the solidarity manifested towards the Ukrainians remaining in their country.

At the same time, the dialogue highlighted the need for sustained efforts so that citizens and the economies of member-states benefit from packages of financial support made at the European level.

"We are focusing on reducing the impact of price increases in energy and gas, as well as on the price of goods. Our support granted to the economy has in view decreasing inflation and developing the rhythm of economic growth through massive investments, the use of European funds and attracting investors. Romania is a safe country, a member of the European Union and NATO, which guarantees the security of business and investments," said Nicolae Ciuca, quoted in the release, Agerpres.ro informs.

In his turn, the European Commissioner for Economy sent a message of confidence both to investors, as well as to consumers on the European market, showing that the Union is going through this period of crisis with a good status at the economic level and good basis for growth.

At the same time, Commissioner Gentiloni showed that Romania is on a good path from the perspective of economic development, the growth rate needing to be kept up.

"Unity and cohesion have been recognized as being extremely necessary in this period at the European level, in order to avoid increasing development differences between member-states. In this sense, several measures for support in the EU will be implemented, which will be added to the use of funds already made available to member-states, through the PNRR [National Recovery and Resilience Plan], the multi-annual financial framework or the emergency funds," the release also shows.
