The Government took all the necessary measures to organise the referendum on the revision of the Constitution as best as possible, and the results of this vote express the will of the citizens related to the topic of the redefinition of family, stated Prime Minister Viorica Dancila.
"The result of the poll on Saturday and Sunday announced by the Central Electoral Bureau showed that the necessary quorum required by law to validate the referendum wasn't met. The Government took all the necessary steps to organise the referendum as best as possible, considering its obligations according to law. Consulting the citizens through a referendum is an essential attribute of a democratic society and the results of the referendum are the expression of the citizens' will related to this topic," stated Viorica Dancila on Wednesday, in the opening of the Government meeting.
