Prime Minister-designate Viorica Dancila stated on Wednesday that it's important to put into practice the governing programme, but also 2018- the Centennial Year and prepare to take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Dancila thanked President Klaus Iohannis for designating her, but also thanked Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea, her colleagues in the party and also colleagues of the ruling coalition. "I thank Mr President Iohannis, I thank Mr Chairman Dragnea, my colleagues and colleagues in the coalition for their confidence. I wait for the vote in Parliament, because for us is important to put into practice the governing programme for Romania and for Romanians, to treat 2018 as we should treat it - the Centennial Year, but, at the same time, make preparations in order to take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 January 2019," Dancila stated.
