The National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) unanimously validated on Tuesday the candidacy of Ciprian Ciucu for the position of Bucharest Mayor General, at the proposal of the Bucharest branch.
The validation vote within the National Political Bureau represents the final procedural step provided by the PNL statute, according to a statement from the party.
'My firm belief is that Mr Ciucu would be an excellent mayor for Bucharest, as he combines two very important qualities that other candidates lack: administrative experience and integrity,' said PNL Chairman Ilie Bolojan during the meeting, according to the same source.
He added that putting Bucharest in order will not be achieved through grand speeches but through clear rules, efficient teams and respect for people.
Ciprian Ciucu aims to offer the people of Bucharest a modern, efficient administration focused on practical solutions for the Capital's development, the PNL mentioned.
'I am going for victory. I shall fight to win the City Hall. Some have tried to push us out of the race unfairly. It will be quite a tough battle, with people already throwing money into social media, with people backed by circles that are hard to define, but I am confident we shall win the campaign and do it with our heads held high. We haven't prepared any smear attacks. We shall run a positive campaign, this is our offer for Bucharest. What you see in the polls is real or maybe even better. The polls that don't belong to us were published without ownership and could have been adjusted. Both surveys we have released were conducted by two polling companies whose results have been validated by previous election outcomes. Thank you for your vote,' said Ciprian Ciucu, according to the same source.
