The chairman of the National Liberal Party, Ludovic Orban, said on Friday that those governing "mocked the formidable opportunities" that Romania had and still has to ensure an accelerated economic development, and the governmental policies did nothing but "compromise" the chances it had of solid economic growth on healthy bases.
"You saw very clearly that in the evaluation made by the European Commission the perspectives for economic growth of Romania in the year 2018 were adjusted downwardly. Where the Romanian authorities foresaw an economic growth of 5.5 percent for the year 2018, you can see clearly that Romania will not have such an economic growth, it can be clearly seen for a few months that there's a dramatic drop in economic growth and the economic growth estimated at the European level for 2018 for Romania is of 3.6 percent. Furthermore, in what regards the evaluation of the inflation, the prognosis is of inflation increase to 4.3 percent," Orban stated, in a press conference.
