The President of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Ludovic Orban, stated on Friday in Alba Iulia that, in his opinion, in the event of the Government being removed, the best solution would be snap elections given that the political options changed dramatically from December 2016.
"Our fundamental objective is to remove this government [through censure motion]. Any form of governing that will be formed, obviously will support the best formula in our viewpoint and which obviously can benefit the support of a parliamentary majority. Although I tell you that the best solution for Romania in the case of removing the Government is to return to the people because the political choices have changed substantially. They have dramatically changed compared to the political options expressed in the December 2016 elections. As a rule, when something like this happens in normal democracies in this world, snap elections are used to reset basically the Parliament," the PNL leader told a press conference.
The censure motion entitled "Enough! The Dragnea-Dancila Government, the shame of Romania!", initiated by PNL, USR and PMP, was tabled on Friday.
