The chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Florin Citu, has stated on Wednesday that it was established, at the level of the governing coalition, that where there is a chairman for the County Council from one party the prefect will be designated from that same party, and in Bucharest, the position of prefect will be allotted to the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
"Where there is a chairman for the County Council there will be a prefect from the same party. There may be one or two exceptions, but this is the basic rule. (...) This was the rule that was ultimately reached, we will try to compensate in the other branches with other positions. There are over 140 positions, political appointments that will be made and then those not becoming prefect will have a different position - state secretary and so forth," said Citu, in Parliament, after the coalition session.
About the exceptions to the rule, Citu said that they must first be discussed, then announced.
According to the Liberal leader, Bucharest will see an appointment from the PSD. He further added that Cluj County will have a prefect from the National Liberal Party (PNL).
