Prime Minister Ludovic Orban told private broadcaster Digi24 on Monday evening that statistics show that the increase in the number of novel coronavirus cases has been stopped.
"We are already after a week in which the number of infections is by about 500 less than in the week before. Compared to two weeks ago, the rise in the previous week was of just 150 cases overall, so it's safe to say that we have stopped the growth, which is extremely important, because as you know, a rising trend had set in," said the Prime Minister, adding that this was possible by complying with the safety measures.
"All categories of measures must be enforced and all measures must be observed in all enclosed spaces, in public transport, at work ... Apart from that, all the measures ordered for the immediate isolation of the persons who test positive, the health assessment by a medical worker, the isolation at home of the contacts identified by epidemiological tracing - this whole set of measures has allowed us to stop the rise in the number of daily cases, which is no small feat. There is a slight downward trend, but this cannot be maintained and can only continue if people keep following these rules," Orban said.
