Romania's President Nicusor Dan on Monday discussed with representatives of U.S. companies, banks and investment funds that invest in Romanian bonds and answered their concerns about the political situation, greater than those related to the financial situation.
"Today I had a meeting with Romanians in the technology sector in the United States. We had several meetings with representatives of the U.S. Business community, introducing them to opportunities provided by Romania. We had a meeting with people from the financial area, organized by J.P. Morgan, financial institutions that lend to Romania, to tell them where we are," Dan told a news conference.
Asked if they were interested in why Romania does not have a government, Dan answered in the affirmative.
"It was a discussion with representatives of companies, banks, investment funds that invest in Romanian bonds, at a higher level than those that currently take place in Bucharest. And of course, questions were asked about the political situation, the financial situation. I answered those related to the political situation. Minister Nazare and Mr Burnete answered those related to the financial one. The concerns were greater on the political side, because on all financial indicators we are very good as against the place we started from. And I answered - essentially, I told them that, beyond these quarrels, on important issues, as it was in the summer, July-August, on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), there is a lot of reasonableness in the political area," said Dan.
The President admitted that he made some estimates for American investors regarding the time when Romania will have a government but refused to make them public.
