President Nicusor Dan welcomed the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmus, at Cotroceni Palace on Friday, the former stating on this occasion that the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has an open invitation to visit Bucharest.
President Nicusor Dan praised the military cooperation between Turkey and Romania and referred to the minorities in our country.
'It is a pleasure to have you here. Our bilateral relationship is long-standing and complex. There is a substantial economic partnership which, I believe, has all the premises to continue developing. We have very good cooperation in the military field. We thank you for your participation in the Air Policing mission at the end of this year; we also thank you for the cooperation on mine clearance in the Black Sea, as well as for the significant military acquisitions that Romania is making from Turkey. We also have a Turkish community and a Tatar community in Romania, which are very well integrated and with which we cooperate very well, and of course we are looking forward to welcoming President Erdogan to Bucharest,' said Nicusor Dan.
