President Klaus Iohannis promulgated on Friday the Law amending Article 17 of the Government's Emergency Ordinance on access to one's own file and the declassification of Securitate.
According to the changes, the Board of the National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives is composed of 13 members.
Among them, 11 are appointed at the proposal of the parliamentary groups, according to the political configuration of the two legislative Chambers, including one representative of the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities in the Chamber of Deputies.
They are joined by a representative member of civil society, proposed by the Romanian president, based on consultation with non-governmental organizations, and a representative member of civil society, proposed by the prime minister, based on consultation with non-governmental organizations.
