On Thursday, President Klaus Iohannis signed the decree on the promulgation of the Law supplementing the Labour Code, which provides for the benefits granted to the employees whose activity has been reduced or interrupted in the context of the state of emergency.
According to the law sent for promulgation, "in case of temporary suspension of the activity and/or its reduction as a result of the decree of a state of emergency, the employees affected by the reduced or interrupted activity, who have their individual employment agreement suspended, benefit from an unemployment benefit paid from the unemployment insurance budget, in the amount of 75 per cent of the basic salary corresponding to their job, but not more than 75 per cent of the average gross salary used to substantiate the state social insurance budget in force, during the entire maintenance state of siege or state of emergency, as the case may be," said the President.
