Iohannis Xavier Bettel

President Klaus Iohannis will receive, on Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, on the occasion of the latter's visit to Cincu, in Brasov county, at the invitation of the Romanian side, the Presidential Administration informed.

According to the quoted source, the two high-ranking officials will have political consultations and will visit together the troops stationed at the Getica Combined National Training Center in Cincu, Brasov county, going to address the Luxembourg soldiers who are part of the NATO Battle Group in Romania. The Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Francois Bausch, will also take part in the visit, agerpres reports.

"The visit of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel reconfirms the intensity of the Romanian-Luxembourg bilateral dialogue and contributes to the consolidation of the two countries' close coordination within the European Union and NATO," the Presidential Administration says.

President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will have in-depth discussions about the strengthening of the allied deterrence and defense posture on the Eastern Flank of NATO, about the continuation of the multidimensional support offered to Ukraine, as well as about the support for vulnerable partners in the region, with an emphasis on the Republic of Moldova, seriously affected by the consequences of the war of aggression against Ukraine, the quoted source mentions.

The consultations will also target the intensification of Romania - Luxembourg cooperation in the field of European affairs, including regarding the adoption of the new Strategic Agenda and the enlargement process of the European Union. The discussions will also focus on ways to further develop bilateral relations, including the security and defense component, which has become, in the current context, a key area of cooperation.

At the same time, the two high-ranking officials will address the deepening of Romania - Luxembourg economic and sectoral relations, with an emphasis on the field of investments and the development of financial markets and cutting-edge technologies.
