President Nicusor Dan will meet on Wednesday at 4 p.m. with the leaders of the governing coalition and with representatives of the magistrates at the Cotroceni Palace, according to the president's agenda.
He also held a discussion on Tuesday regarding the pensions of prosecutors and judges.
Before that, he said magistrates' pensions had become a topic of 'political campaigning' and that prosecutors and judges had turned into 'scapegoats'.
'Because of this political campaign, they (the magistrates - editor's note) have become a sort of scapegoats, and that is not normal,' said the head of state.
Last Friday, the head of state mentioned that discussions on this matter were nearing 'a compromise'.
'From the information I have, the compromise is quite close. (...) There are several aspects under discussion, and obviously I am not going to tell you now what the position of each party is or what they have told me. (...). We will very likely have a meeting next week on several matters related to current activity and the start of discussions on the 2026 budget,' Nicusor Dan said at the time.
Regarding the risk of losing money from the National Resilience and Recovery Plan (PNRR) because of this milestone, the president said that 'we must be optimistic' in this regard.
