President-elect Nicusor Dan welcomes the nomination of Darryl Nirenberg for the position of Ambassador of the United States of America to Romania.
"I would like to thank President Trump for his strong leadership and commitment to the relationship between Romania and the United States of America, as well as for the nomination of Mr. Darryl Nirenberg as the United States Ambassador to Romania. I extend my congratulations to Mr. Nirenberg on his nomination," the president-elect wrote on Wednesday on the X network.
Romania and the USA - added Nicusor Dan - are united by decades of cooperation, supported by common values. In this regard, he advocates for the consolidation of the Strategic Partnership.
"I look forward to working closely with President Trump and his administration to further strengthen the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States. Our countries are united by decades of cooperation, supported by common values and shared interests. I am fully confident that, together, we will achieve major projects that will bring greater security and prosperity to our peoples," Nicusor Dan writes.
Darryl Nirenberg, nominated on Tuesday as the United States ambassador to Romania by President Donald Trump, will go through several procedural stages until validation by the US Senate.
Trump made the announcement via his social platform Truth Social: "I am pleased to announce that Darryl Nirenberg will be the next United States Ambassador to Romania," he said.
The nomination comes after the official announcement of the retirement of the acting ambassador, Kathleen Kavalec, published on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Bucharest.
