AGERPRES special correspondent Cristian Lupascu reports: The President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, and the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, laid wreaths on Tuesday at the "Monument of Stephen the Great and the Holy" in Chisinau.
The wreath-laying ceremony took place in the presence of the two official delegations, as well as hundreds of Moldovan citizens who chanted "Bessarabia is Romania", "Unity" and "Long live Moldova, Transylvania and Wallachia!" The two presidents were continuously applauded by the Moldovan citizens gathered in the immediate vicinity of the Great National Assembly Square.
Romanian President Nicusor Dan is paying an official visit to Chisinau on Tuesday, his first since taking office.
At 6:00 p.m., he will meet with Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean before attending an official dinner hosted by President Maia Sandu.
In the evening, President Nicusor Dan will attend the event 'The Common European Future of Romania and the Republic of Moldova', alongside his Moldovan counterpart.
