Potatoes, eggs and fresh fruit are the food products whose prices went up the most in October compared to the previous month, while in the non-food goods, the highest price increases were registered in the case of electricity, thermal energy and fuels, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), released on Friday.
Thus, the price of vegetables and canned vegetables increased by 7.66%, while the price of eggs rose by 6.63%, of fresh fruits by 6.19% and of potatoes by 5.41%. Price increases were also recorded for butter (+4.80%), fruit and canned fruits (+2.54%), dairy products (+1.07%) and sheep's cheese - 1.05%.
On the segment of non-food products, the price of electricity increased by 6.94%, of fuel by 3.47% and of thermal energy by 1.96%.
On the other hand, the steepest decreases were registered in air transport (-1.23%), citrus fruits and other fruits (-1.16%), sugar (-0.42%), corn flour (-0.12%) and telephony charges (-0.2%).
On total food goods, prices rose by 1.28% in October compared to the previous month, while in the case of non-food goods prices went up by 1.74%.
The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has revised upwards to 2.7% the inflation forecast for the end of this year, from 1.9% previously.AGERPRES .
