The primary energy resources increased by 4.1 percent in the first nine months of the year, compared to the similar period of 2016, to 25.198 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), and the electricity resources declined by 2.5 percent, a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Monday informs.
In the period between 1 January - 30 September 2017, the main primary energy resources went up by 4.1 percent, 997,200 toe, respectively, totalising 25.198 million toe.
According to the INS, the domestic production stood at 15.794 million toe, increasing by 682,100 toe compared to the same period of the previous year, and imports stood at 9.403 million toe.
In respect to electricity resources, in the first nine months of 2017 they stood at 49.946 billion kWh, declining by 1.259 billion kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
The thermal power stations production stood at 20.450 billion kWh, increasing by 1.769 billion kWh (+9.5 percent).
The hydroelectric power plants production stood at 11.118 billion kWh, dropping by 4.064 billion kWh (-26.8 percent), and the production of nuclear power plants stood at 8.465 billion kWh, up by 198.7 million kWh (+2.4 percent), INS mentions.
Furthermore, the production of wind power plants in the period between 1 January - 30 September 2017 stood at 5.422 billion kWh, increasing by 811.1 million kWh compared to the same period of 2016, while the solar energy produced by photovoltaic plants in this period was 1.615 billion kWh, up by 6 million kWh.
The final electricity consumption totalised, in the first nine months of the year, 40.698 billion kWh, lower by 0.4 percent than in the corresponding period of last year, taking into account that public lighting recorded a drop of 7.4 percent and households consumption declined by 3.3 percent.
INS also informed that the electricity export reached 5.023 billion kWh, declining by 1.084 billion kWh and the own technological consumption in grids and stations was 4.226 billion kWh, down by 4 million kWh.
