Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Monday that there are areas of prodigality, smaller or larger "black holes," all over Romania, and the sooner they are corrected, the more the risk of our country entering into a situation similar to Greece's "decreases."

Asked on private broadcaster B1 TV where he thinks there are "black holes" in Romania, Bolojan replied: "Everywhere. Wherever things can work better, there is a black hole, smaller or larger. Everywhere where calculations are not done correctly, staffing levels should be set correctly, if necessary, staff should be reduced, if not, they should remain the same or new staff should be hired. But certainly, in many places there are too many employees. If we do not recognize this, it means we are denying the obvious. If we have a county council, two or three that can function with 90 employees, with 120 employees, we wonder how those with 250 employees function, because we have not heard that those with around 100 employees create major problems in their respective counties due to having too few employees compared to what they should have. Maybe it would be a radical measure to have less than 100, but maybe 120, 130, up to 250 is a long way."

ccording to the prime minister, "the same situation exists in city halls, ministries, and companies."

"We must conduct these analyses everywhere where money is being wasted, where things could work better, because that means there is a black hole, and we can discuss this at length. The faster and more honestly we correct these areas of prodigality, which are black holes, the more the risk of Romania entering a situation like Greece's decreases. This is the right path for Romania. We have adopted a package of measures that is not enough if we go back and do nothing, because any reform will upset someone," said Bolojan.
