On June 25, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) canceled the elections for the position of mayor in Costinesti commune and ordered a rerun of the election on July 7.

BEC accepted the request to cancel the elections for the position of mayor, a request that had been made by the Social Democratic Party - Constanta branch.

In Costinesti, the counting of voters' votes was repeated six times, in the end the candidate from PNL was chosen as the winner for the post of mayor, to the detriment of the PSD candidate, with a difference of one vote.

In an address submitted by the Electoral Bureau of Costinesti District to the BEC, several irregularities were mentioned, based on supporting documents, including the fact that two people, one of whom is a Ukrainian citizen, voted without having this right.
