The Social Democratic Party (PSD) hails the resolution for a Fair Europe, sustainable and respectful, approved at the Party of European Socialists (PES) Council meeting, carried out in Brussels.
"We hail the resolution approved by our political family at the European level. In Europe we bet on fairness, sustainability and respect. We also want to do this in Romania, for the Social Democratic Party has reconnected with our political family, and we want together with the Social Democrat PMs all over Europe to conduct a sustainable and fair social and economic recovery," said the PSD Chairman, Marcel Ciolacu, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.
In the same context, MEP Victor Negrescu underscored that PSD has become active again in the European Social Democratic family, and its joining of the Government allows it to implement and support the Social policies in which it believes at the EU level.
"The support offered by the Romanian Government regarding the minimum European salary, the social measures to come into force next year and the corrections brought by the National Recover and Resilience Plan (PNRR), in order to make possible its implementation, are just some of the clear examples of things that PSD does concretely," the national coordinator of PES activists Romania, MEP Victor Negrescu, maintained.
He specified that in the next period the Social Democratic Party will intensify its actions in the European and international area, with PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu to continue his series of meetings with European Commissioners and leaders that he has started this year.
The Council meeting of the Party of European Socialists was organized in Brussels this year, on which occasion they approved the framework document with the proposal of the European Social Democrats regarding the post-COVID recovery.
