The interim president of the PSD (Social Democratic Party), Sorin Grindeanu, on Thursday stated that the minister of investments and European projects, Dragos Pislaru, came from Brussels with a to-do list that included some fiscal measures such as increasing VAT and introducing CASS for pensions higher than 3,000.

"I think the minister of European funds, Mr. Pislaru, went to Brussels, to a normal meeting with those from the Commission and came back from there, as our representatives have come before when they went to Brussels, with a to-do list, with what should happen, with the fiscal measures that Romania should take. This is what it is about and this is what happened, he came with a to-do list related to CASS, VAT increases and all these things. But I don't think that anything was said in Brussels about veterans or political prisoners," Grindeanu said.

He added that Romania was supposed to take certain fiscal measures during this period and in the past months, but these decisions were postponed for reasons "related to the previous electoral campaigns."

"These fiscal measures do not say exactly, or they did not say exactly, except for maybe in certain areas or at certain levels what had to be adopted in Romania. As a result, last week, the new minister of European funds went to Brussels, of course, where he presented what we would like, that package that you knew, where there was no increase in VAT from 19 to 21%, CASS was over 4,000, the things that you presented. And he came from there with these measures that we have nowin package 1," the PSD leader also stated.
