Social Democratic Party (PSD) interim Chairman Sorin Grindeanu stated that the PSD's amendment to keep the 1 percent turnover tax for multinationals was maintained by the Coalition in the fiscal measures which the Government will assume responsibility for, on Monday evening in Parliament.
"Our amendment for multinationals to maintain the 1 percent tax was accepted. This is a settled matter. This amendment was accepted, which is a good thing. This provision should not have been repealed from the Fiscal Code," Grindeanu stated prior to the meeting of the National Standing Bureau (BPN) of the PSD, agerpres reports.
Referring to the companies without residency in Romania, Grindeanu mentioned: "It is a discussion - and an explanation - which the Finance Minister made regarding the 50 million [EUR] threshold and what happens below 50 million, regarding the criteria to prevent capital transfer under the 50 million turnover."
