PSD (Social Democratic Party) will present itself to the discussions at the Cotroceni Palace [Presidential Palace - editor's note] regarding the new government, as we are open to all options, without demanding anything, the interim president of the party, Sorin Grindeanu, stated on Monday.

"We are going to discussions, which is very correct, but in no case I would call this negotiations, because, if you want to go to negotiations, you should demand something. We are not demanding anything at this point. We are going to these absolutely needed discussions and, when a point of view emerges from there, we will transmit it to our colleagues from the CPN (National Political Council), so that we can make the right decision. I repeat, the mandate that we received from our colleagues in this political forum is to have all options open and, after we know them, we will present them and make a decision," explained Grindeanu, after the meeting of PSD's National Permanent Bureau.

He was also asked about his expectations from president Nicusor Dan: "First of all, I congratulate him, it's a victory by a large margin. It's a good thing that the interims in Romania are ending, because we have had and continue to have this interim on various components. It's an important step to enter a stable area, to discuss projects, to discuss things that we can do for the people. Beyond this political uproar, I believe that our main goal is to address the people, to see what we can do to improve people's lives, what projects we have, what programmes we have, that's what it's all about."
