The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a Code Red warning of persistent and intense heat wave, heat wave, particularly pronounced thermal discomfort, tropical night in the counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu, Dambovita, Calarasi, Ilfov and the municipality of Bucharest, valid from Sunday, 10:00, until Monday, 10:00, Agerpres reports.
The heat wave will be intense in the counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu, Dambovita, Calarasi, Ilfov and the municipality of Bucharest, where it will be scorching hot and maximum temperatures of 39...41 degrees will be recorded. Thermal discomfort will be particularly pronounced, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
The minimum temperatures will be 20...23 degrees, characterizing a tropical night.
Meteorologists have also issued a Code Orange warning of persistent heat wave, heatwave and severe thermal discomfort, tropical night in Muntenia, eastern Oltenia, southern and central Moldova, southern continental Dobrogea, valid from Sunday, 10:00 a.m., until Monday, 10:00 a.m.
In Muntenia, eastern Oltenia, southern and central Moldova and southern continental Dobrogea, the heat wave will remain intense, there will be heatwaves, pronounced thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. Maximum temperatures will range between 35 and 39 degrees. Minimum temperatures will be 18...22 degrees and locally will characterize a tropical night.
At the same time, a Yellow Code for persistent heat wave and high thermal discomfort will come into effect from Sunday, 10:00 a.m., until Monday, 10:00 a.m.
The heat wave will persist in eastern and southern Transylvania, northern Moldova, southern Oltenia and northern Dobrogea. There will be heatwaves and high thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximums will be between 33 and 36 degrees, and the minimums between 17 and 20 degrees.
